Established in 1981 as an extension of Ceyhan fertilizer plant for the purpose of raw material supply, Toros Terminal started at a later stage to serve third persons too. In 1986, Toros Terminal Servisleri ve Denizcilik A.Ş. (Toros Terminal & Maritime Co., Inc.) was established with the aim of establishing and operating the terminal, rendering handling and storage service for different product lines, and conducting maritime transport activities. The company has become one of the major players in this industry following the expansion of Toros Terminal 1990 and acquisition of Samsun Terminal in 2006.
Founded in 2005, Toros Gemi Acenteliği ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Toros Ship Agency Services Co., Inc.) serves as a broker for the ships that carry cargoes to Ceyhan and Samsun Terminals. The company also offers pilotage and waste disposal services. Besides, the company ensures the inspection and coordination of the pilotage and towing services that are offered both at its own terminal and at circumjacent wharfs and terminals.
Having started its operations in 1998, TAYSEB - Toros Adana Yumurtalık Serbest Bölgesi Kurucu ve İşleticisi A.Ş. (Toros Adana Yumurtalık Free Zone Founder and Operator Co., Inc.) is the founder and operator of Adana Yumurtalık Free Zone that is established on an area of 4,5 million square meter in the same region with Toros Terminal. Located at an appropriate place in terms of both its geographical position and transportation opportunities, TAYSEB is the first and only free zone of Turkey that is designed for heavy industry.
Toros Meram Renewable Energy Production, Inc. is an integrated biogas and organic fertilizer company with an annual production capacity of 75 thousand tons of solid organo-mineral fertilizers and 15 thousand tons of liquid organic fertilizers, and has an electricity generation facility with an installed capacity of 6 MW. The facility, which has a daily disposal capacity of 770 tons of wet waste, generates electricity from biogas, which is produced through the fermentation of organic wastes. The plant also produces the solid and liquid organic fertilizers our soils need from the wastes that complete the gasification process.
Toros Gönen Renewable Energy Production Inc., which was established in 2011 in Balıkesir Gönen under the roof of Altaca Energy to produce electricity, humic acid and organic fertilizers from biogas, is an integrated biogas and organic fertilizer company with an annual production capacity of 35 thousand tons of organo-mineral fertilizers, and has an electricity generation facility with an installed capacity of 3.62 MW. In addition to the economical value provided by the electrical energy and organic fertilizers, the facility also plays a very active role in eliminating environmental pollution in the region with 400 tons/day of organic waste disposal.
