Toros Agri Necati Akçağlılar Primary School welcomed its students

Toros Agri Necati Akçağlılar Primary School, built in the memory of Necati Akçağlılar, one of Tekfen Holding founding partners, was inaugurated following a ceremony held on 17 September Monday. Founded by Tekfen Foundation and located in Sarımazı town in Ceyhan, Adana, Toros Agri Necati Akçağlılar Primary School will serve 477 students. The school has 28 classrooms, science and computer labs, library, as well as basketball and volleyball fields.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Tekfen Foundation Chairman Ercan Kumcu commented that they attach great importance to upbringing of Turkish youth as honest, ethical as well as successful individuals. He continued: “Our philosophy is built on mutual trust and awareness for responsibility. While our youth promise us to become good students, we, as a foundation promise them not to let them down and support throughout their education. Because we know that the best investment is the one made in people. ”

Ercan Kumcu continued his words. “Due to the importance we attach to education and our ties of affection with the region, we have accepted the project to build a school at Sarımazı not only as a duty, but as a part of our corporate social responsibility, and furthermore with a great pleasure. Our children shall continue their education in a modern, bright and brand new environment in line with the high standards set by our Ministry of National Education”. 

Toros Agri Chairwoman Esin Mete also spoke at the ceremony and said that Toros Agri Necati Akçağlılar Primary School is new source of happiness and pride for them. Esin Mete emphasized that besides occupational training, Toros Agri offers its best contribution to provide better education opportunities for the youth in the regions where it operates.
