Toros Tarım won the first prize at Growtech 2016 Innovation Agriculture Awards

Toros Tarım won the first prize with its “Toros Farmer Smart Agriculture and Fertilization Application” project in the Agricultural Informatics category at Growtech 2016 Innovation Agriculture Awards, which was held for the seventh time this year. “Toros Farmer Smart Agriculture and Fertilization Application”, noted for its uniqueness, creativity and its farmer-friendly properties combining technology with agriculture, reached a happy ending with the votes of the selection committee and the public.

“Growtech Eurasia 2016 Agriculture Awards” are granted to new products, projects or services that can meet the economic needs, that can be successfully released to current markets or that can create new markets or can provide added value for agricultural production and raise awareness in this field. The applications for awards submitted by the companies and corporations that carry on activities in national and international agriculture industry are presented to public voting following the pre-evaluation by the selection committee.

“Toros Farmer” agricultural decision support application, a simple and easy-to-use app, aims to help farmers increase their productivity by using their limited resources in the most correct manner. The application that farmers can download for free on their smart phones, computers and tablets provides specific fertilization suggestions to farmers based on the coordinates of the field and instantaneous weather, soil and plant conditions, thus aiming to increase savings and productivity. Farmers that upload their information to the system receive advance warnings for frost, storm and excessive rain risks for their own fields, while also obtaining important agricultural information concerning rainfall and temperature/heat accumulation.
