Toros Agri has joined the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) at the IPNI Board Meeting held on May 19 in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Esin Mete, CEO of Tekfen Holding’s Agri-Division and Chairwoman of Toros Agri-Industry Group was elected to serve on the IPNI Board of Directors.
“All of the member companies of IPNI are pleased to welcome the support of Toros Tarim,” said IPNI President Dr. Terry L. Roberts. “Expansion of our membership allows IPNI to strengthen its support base required to further the Institute’s focus on agronomic research and education, world food security, environmental concerns, and related issues.”
Toros Agri produces fertilizer from its Ceyhan, Mersin and Samsun facilities, which presently hold 38% of the established production capacity in Turkey. Toros Agri holds a reputable place in the sector and a displayed commercial success.
Its leading role in Turkey is the result of its focus on developing a strong distribution network, dealer organizations, and infrastructure for the production of its diverse range of fertilizer products.
“Toros Agri is dedicated to serving the agricultural sector, helping farmers maintain the fertility of their soils, and growing more nutritious crops and IPNI’s science-based programs match our goals and objectives of developing nutrient stewardship programs and promoting good fertilization practices,” explains Ms. Mete.
Membership in IPNI is composed of companies that are basic producers of one or more of the major plant nutrients (nitrogen, phosphate, potash, and sulfur) for agricultural purposes.
Large retail organizations that do not qualify as basic producers may qualify as associate members. Certain other associations and institutes qualify as affiliate members.
